Namaste India

10:00am – 8:00pm
Free

The Namaste India Festival returns to the event square at Yoyogi Park.

What happens?

With the links between India and Japan getting stronger, this festival gets bigger and bigger each year. There will be a large number of different food and drink stalls, musical performances, lectures, and other displays. There are scheduled performances all day on both Saturday and Sunday and around 200,000 visitors are expected.

Aside from the food and drink, there are usually a large number of stalls selling saree, jewelry, and other Indian fashion.

What kind of food is there?

If you’re looking for an alternative to the typical Northern Indian food that is popular in Japan, then Namaste India provides cuisines represented from throughout India. In particular, it’s a great place to pick up food from Southern India such as Dosa — using quite different spices to those found in Northern Indian cuisine.

Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
