Festivals

Cheese Festa 2015: What better way to celebrate World Cheese Day than with a cheese-tasting event? EBiS303, an event hall in Ebisu, will host the festa where you can try various domestic and international varieties of the stinky stuff until Thursday, Nov. 12. Yes, wine will be present.

Farmers and Kids Festa 2015: This event at Hibiya Park lets parents pass that tricky “Where does food come from?” question onto real farmers, who will hold educational seminars on agriculture for kids. In addition, there will be food available to eat and various farm animals to befriend.

Suggested Activity

Jingugaien Itcho Festival: With colorful autumn leaves ablaze, you’ll want to head to  Icho Namiki Avenue where the numerous and intensely yellow ginko trees are star. Winter Illuminations

Although it still looks, feels and is pretty autumny, Tokyo’s gone right ahead and lit itself up prematurely celebrating the wintery season to come. But who are we to turn our noses up at that? After all, we cheapos like our shiny things too. The top spots for winter illuminations so far are: Midtown Christmas 2015 and Roppongi Hills Christmas Illuminations 2015 (both in Roppongi) and Tokyo Dome City Winter Illuminations in the Korakuen area.

Next Week

The second of three Tori no Ichi Fair days is Tue, Nov 17 (the first was on the 5th and the last will take place on the 29th of this month). This lively Asakusa event has been held since the Edo period and is said to bring good luck.

Happy Weekend!
