BLOSSOM BLAST is an art exhibition spotlighting the creative talents of emerging female artists. The exhibition aims to support these highly talented and accomplished artists, whose works are often overshadowed and under-priced in comparison to those of  their male counterparts. Show some love and check out some pretty remarkable creations by heading to the UltraSuperNew gallery in Harajuku. On until March 16.

The Oedo Antique Market remains a cheapo staple in our books. It’s a great spot for finding unique souvenirs, decorating your apartment on a shoestring, and strolling about in the spring weather doesn’t hurt either.

Speakeasy Dance Party (March 6):

Commune 246

If you’ve had any experience with Tokyo nightlife, you know that oftentimes entry to a club could cost you as much as 5,000 yen. But the Speakeasy gang is offering a FREE dance party in the trendy Omotesando area. Soul, funk, R&B, disco and more—a great mix of genres will be performed to keep your body groovin’ and movin’. The party is taking place at Commune Farmers Market, which offers a great layout to mingle and meet new friends.

Plum Blossoms

Cherry blossoms will soon overshadow any other blooming thing, so take this weekend to enjoy the just-as-beautiful plum trees. In particular we recommend the Odawara Plum Festival in Kanagawa prefecture, which ends this weekend and features a grove of 35,000 trees. Plus there’s a great view of Mt. Fuji in the background. For those going on Sunday, there will be a lion dance at 1:00pm.
