Tokyo events for Monday, December 23 to Sunday, December 29, 2019

While many winter illuminations continue well into the new year, Tokyo’s Christmas markets will wrap up on Christmas Day. The markets are your place to go for German-style food stalls, hot wine, decorations and last-minute gift shopping. Comic fans should note down the dates for Comiket, a popular four-day dojinshi fair.

Kasukabe Hagoita Market

Catch the last day of the traditional Kasukabe Hagoita Market. Hagoita are ornamental rackets based on an old-school New Year’s game. The rackets are brightly decorated with famous kabuki actors, sports stars and other celebs.
