Is the chilly weather in Tokyo giving you a ravenous appetite? You can feast on Spanish dishes and vegan fare this weekend, then treat your food coma by stumbling around the autumn leaves and illuminations lighting up the city.

First though, we recommend you pre-game at the Doburoku Matsuri in Nihonbashi on Friday evening. This annual festival at Koami Shrine is a celebration of crude, home-brewed sake – and a great, cheap way to warm up.

On Saturday (or Sunday, depending on how much sake you sample), wrap yourself up and head over to Yoyogi Park. Don’t bother with breakfast at home – you’re going to be eating a lot! The Tokyo Vegefood Festa, which is the city’s answer to a vegetarian festival, will be on, with 100 food booths dishing out tasty vegan grub to the crowds. At the same time, the Fiesta de España will be going down – roll over for a plate of paella, music and dance, and random Spanish dating meets. Yes, really.
