Oasis lands in Tokyo.

For the first time in 16 years, the Gallagher brothers are playing Japan, with back-to-back Tokyo Dome shows later this month. It’s also the 30th anniversay of What’s the Story, Morning Glory? To mark the occasion, the band is taking over Shibuya’s Miyashita Park from October 11 to November 2, turning it into a themed playground that not only leans into nostalgia, but reintroduces the band with a fresh take.

What to expect

There’s a lot happening here: posters, video installations, photo spots, and, of course, merch.

All around Miyashita Park, digital screens flicker with footage and short films. One might say it’s a veritable … Wonderwall. No wait, don’t go away. It’s a legit pop-up, well worth a visit.

Some films loop the band’s greatest hits; others transplant Oasis straight into Japan. “待ってたぜ” (“We’ve been waiting”) flashes across shots of Tokyo life: a construction worker taking a break for a drink of water, a teenager strumming a broom-guitar.

Photo spots

The main photo spot is an enlarged cutout of the What’s the Story, Morning Glory? album cover. Strike a pose in front of the famous Berwick Street scene.

Another photo spot creates an optical illusion: a single chair placed against a brick wall and window opening onto clouds and sky, built so the floor disappears from view in photos. When framed through the camera, it looks like you’re floating midair.

Walk past the cafés and shops and you’ll arrive at what looks like a bedroom. This creative installation is the Amazon Music Room, where you can buy merch and music, as well as discover Amazon-curated Oasis playlists.

Books and tchotchkes crowd the shelves. There’s an Oasis sweatshirt and chunky headphones tossed on the moss-green duvet, a banker’s lamp casting a glow, tabletop foosball, a stereo system, and a bricolage of posters and stickers plastered on the wall.

ADAM ET ROPÉ and 10Culture x Oasis

Down on the North 1F level, ADAM ET ROPÉ and 10Culture have teamed up with Oasis — officially licensed — for a companion pop-up running until November 3, 2025. The collection riffs on Morning Glory artwork. Think crisp monochrome T-shirts, sweatshirts, and totes priced between ¥8,800 and ¥15,400.

The designs come from Kosuke Kawamura, the Hiroshima-born collage artist known for his work with AKIRA and Post Malone. There’s a calculated chaos to the graphics, and his signature cut-and-layer feels like a connecting thread to Oasis’ gritty beginnings.

Adidas

The Adidas Originals x Oasis LIVE ’25 Collection celebrates the band’s long connection with the three stripes. The lineup includes track suits, jackets, jerseys, bucket hats, and Japan-exclusive sneakers, all co-branded with the Oasis logo and styled after the group’s 1990s look.

Park in Park

  • This t-shirt is a Tokyo exclusive.
  • Mugs, anyone?

Note: Pre-registration is required to enter the Park in Park pop-up. Slots are already booked out until Wednesday October 15, at the time of writing.

The main Park in Park pop-up is the beating heart of the takeover. You’ll find Tokyo-exclusive tour T-shirts marked with the Tokyo Dome dates in deep Edo purple, shrine stickers or senjafuda reimagined with “Liam” and “Noel” written out in Japanese, mugs with the band’s faces and the Tokyo show dates, and sleek black Oasis-branded folding fans. Pretty fancy for a couple of boys from Manchester. There’s also plenty of apparel, including U.K. and Japan designs.

There’s a five-item-per-person limit on purchases and the pop-up is expected to be quite popular. Snag whatever catches your eye so you don’t look back in anger later.

  • A couple of crisps and a pint and you're at a pub in the middle of Shibuya.

Besides shopping, there’s also small corner that aims to recreate a British pub. What’s on offer? Japanese draft beer and a packet of Tyrells salted crisps, priced at ¥800 and ¥600 each.
