Take a stroll around one of Tokyo’s most stunning Edo-Period gardens and try your hand at Haiku at this event organized by WeLearn Cafe.
What to expect
Meaning “Six Poem Garden”, Rikugien Garden is one of the city’s best examples of a traditional Japanese strolling garden. Its rolling landscape and meticulously framed views, which change as you walk, include design elements that reference Japanese poetry. What better place to learn the traditional Japanese poetry form of haiku?
As you take in the park’s winding paths, stone bridges, and gentle breezes, WeLearn staff will help you capture your thoughts in a few simple words as you craft your own unique haiku.
After the stroll, feel free to share your new creation, chat amongst the group, and get to know some new friends.
