On the first weekend of November, Yoyogi Park fills up with what is essentially Shibuya introducing itself to itself: a two-day festival run by the ward, with local schools, community groups and neighborhood associations doing the heavy lifting.
What to expect
It is a proper municipal festival rather than a slick commercial one, which is exactly the appeal. The event plaza is the main stage, spilling out onto the park paths, the outdoor stage, the basketball court and the ball ground.
Past editions have run a parade of local school bands and youth groups on the Saturday morning, stage performances across both days, a stamp rally and a run of food and craft stalls from Shibuya businesses and community associations — expect much the same shape this year, though the organizers have not published the 2026 program yet.
Worth knowing if you are driving or cycling: there is no car park or bicycle parking inside the venue, and the Saturday parade has previously come with road closures and rerouted buses around the park.
Schedule
Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Yoyogi Park Event Plaza and the surrounding park. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days. Admission is free.
