Future Frequencies Festival is a collaborative event between artist and musician Daito Manabe and music company Beatink. The event will see live performances, conferences, panel discussions, workshops, exhibitions, and collaborative performances over two days.
Lineup
The lineup for the inaugural Future Frequencies Festival pulls from a variety of sonic worlds. The first day’s lineup includes London-based DJ and producer Joy Orbison as well as legendary UK electronic outfit The Sabers of Paradise. The night will wrap up with an audiovisual set from Nosaj Thing and Daito Manabe, and recently announced opening artists include Loraine James, Marihiko Hara, Mount XLR, Keigo Yoshida, Sogen Handa, and Alminium.
The second day’s activities will feature a headline performance from Knower, the experimental jazz-funk collaboration between solo artists Louis Cole and Genevieve Artadi, and earlier performances from jazz/hip-hop artist Kassa Overall, Hasegawa Hakushi, YPY, and Kei Matsumaru, and Takuma Nakata.
Both days will also feature a special film screening and discussion panel with animator and director Shin’ichirō Watanabe and his work A Girl Meets a Boy and A Robot; talks will also happen with Loraine James and Daito Manabe on Saturday and Nick Dwyer on Sunday.
Tickets
Saturday-only advance tickets cost ¥12,000 for standing and ¥14,000 seated. Sunday-only tickets cost ¥14,000 for standing and ¥16,000 seated. Two-day standing tickets cost ¥23,000, and 2-day seated tickets are ¥27,000. Tickets are are on sale now via Beatink.
