The popular Hirakuza Osaka has a new home in Tokyo with Sumo Live Restaurant Hirakuza.
What to expect
Located in Ginza, Sumo Live Restaurant Hirakuza is a two-hour dinner show combining live sumo, sake, and Japanese cuisine. It’s a great alternative to a tournament for an up-close experience, delicious food, insight into the sport, and a chance to interact with the wrestlers.
Once seated, your meal is served, and you get a crash course in training techniques and rules, followed by several sumo bouts. Lucky audience members may be selected to participate in a sumo challenge. All aspects of the show, including introductions, explanations on customs and techniques, and commentary, are presented in English.
The menu features Halal, vegan, and kids’ options, as well as the option to customize your meal. Arrive early to browse the selection of premium Nodo sake at the adjoining Nodo no Sake The Bar. At the end, get a photo with the wrestlers and browse the souvenir store or grab a drink at the bar.
