Get to know about the Japanese spring tradition of Hinamatsuri and learn some origami skills along the way at this cultural event in Akihabara.
What to expect
Hinamatsuri is held in Japan each March to wish for children’s growth and happiness, and WeLearn 80s Café is celebrating Hinamatsuri, or Girl’s Day, with a special event on March 7. During the event, you’ll learn all about the history behind the spring tradition while making your very own Hinamatsuri dolls with origami.
The event will run all day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and you can join at any time. You’re also welcome to just use the language café space freely during your visit. Come alone or bring your friends; everyone is welcome, regardless of your prior Hinamatsuri knowledge or origami prowess.
Entry
Class participation is ¥1,000 (plus one drink) for non-members or just the drink fee (from ¥200) for members.
