Make friends and practice languages while gazing up at the cherry blossoms in full bloom.
What to expect
Enjoy a mix of cultural exchange and language learning at the most beautiful time of the year. The cherry blossoms will be in full bloom — check out the forecast — and WeLearn has organized a special hanami (cherry blossom viewing) party to celebrate.
This event is for those who want to experience the Japanese culture of hanami, as well as for those who wish to improve their Japanese or English language skills.
Everyone is welcome, whether on your own or with friends. The WeLearn Community is a diverse group of Japanese and English speakers and learners, creating an inclusive environment for cultural exchange.
Soft drinks are complimentary and bringing your own alcohol is allowed.
Tickets
This event costs $10 (USD) (around ¥1,500) and tickets can be bought online. The price includes free soft drinks, such as tea.
You need to register on the WeLearn website and either opt for a Pay-as-you-go Membership — where you pay $10 (USD) for each offline event and $7 (USD) for online classes — or an Unlimited Membership — where you pay $10 (USD) every month and join as many events as you want in that month.
You can also pay for tickets on the day for ¥1,500 if you use the app PayPay.
How to get there
The event will be held at Asukayama Park, famous for its cherry blossoms. Staff will greet you at the Central Exit of Ōji Station at 2 p.m.
