9:30am – 4:00pm
Free

Stroll through vibrant flower fields and grab a bite to eat under the sun at this Saitama spring festival.

What to expect

Musashi Kyūryō National Government Park comes alive in spring with a riot of color — think fields of Iceland poppies, waves of soft blue nemophila, and the towering spikes of lupines and delphiniums. Wander through the park’s breathtaking flower fields, including a jaw-dropping 700,000 Iceland poppies.

If you’re looking for something a little more hands-on, Active Weeks lets you dive into the outdoors with activities like canoeing, tree climbing, and grass skiing — stretch your legs and breathe in some fresh air.

Suggested Activity
Get Tickets To the Samurai Restaurant in Shinjuku (Up to 30% Off)
Experience one of the craziest, most colorful places in Tokyo — the all-new Samurai Restaurant, from the creators of the Robot Restaurant. Get your tickets and sit back for a wild show of lasers, lights, samurai, dancers and other uniquely Japanese weirdness.

Botanical Picnic, an open-air market featuring food, coffee, sweets, and workshops, will also be held.

Schedule 2025

The event runs from April 5 to May 25, with different flowers coming into bloom at various times.

Until early May, you can enjoy Iceland poppies and nemophila in full bloom, while late April to mid-May brings the lupines and delphiniums. Throughout April and May, the Colorful Leaf Garden will showcase its beautiful roses.

Active Weeks will take place from April 26 to 27, April 29, and then from May 3 to May 6, running from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The market will be held from May 3 to May 6, also from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event organizers suggest bringing your own cup or bottle to be more sustainable.

How to get there

If you’re setting off from Shinjuku, you’ll want to take the Saikyō Line to Ikebukuro, then transfer to the Tōbu Tōjō Line and get off Shinrin Koen Station (about 50 minutes). From there, take the bus to Shinrin Koen Minamiguchi and ride for about 5 minutes. Get off at Shinrin Koen South Exit and walk a few minutes to Musashi Kyūryō National Government Park. The whole journey should take around 80 minutes.

Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
