What to expect
The Sumida Hokusai Museum marks its 10th anniversary with a deep dive into works by Hokusai and Hiroshige — unequivocally the two most famous artists of traditional woodblock prints known as ukiyo-e.
The exhibition traces how the residents of Edo, now Tokyo, worshipped Mount Fuji as both a spiritual destination and a distant dream.
Schedule 2026
The exhibition extends from June 23 to August 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (last entry 5:00 p.m.). The displays will be rotated, with the first session going from June 23 to July 26, and the second from July 28 to August 30.
The exhibition will be closed on Mondays (except July 20; closed on July 21 instead).
