What to expect
Keen to take your first steps into learning Japanese in an easygoing, pressure-free environment? WeLearn 80s Cafe in Akihabara is hosting a beginner-level class this March where participants will get to know the building blocks of everyday Japanese conversation.
In this class, you’ll learn:
- How to give a simple self-introduction in Japanese
- How to say your name, country, and what you do for work
- Easy Japanese grammar
- Basic writing, reading, and thinking in Japanese
Class materials will be taken from the textbook Japanese for Busy People I, and you’ll study Lesson 1: Meeting: Nice to Meet You. If you’ve already got a copy of the text, feel free to bring it with you. Otherwise, the teacher will provide printed handouts. Don’t worry if you’re not confident with hiragana or katakana; the textbook uses English and Romaji.

Entry
Class participation is ¥2,000 (including one drink).
