In-person Japanese Class: Say Nice to Meet You in Japanese!

Get to know the fundamentals of Japanese with this casual class in Akihabara.

What to expect

Keen to take your first steps into learning Japanese in an easygoing, pressure-free environment? WeLearn 80s Cafe in Akihabara is hosting a beginner-level class this March where participants will get to know the building blocks of everyday Japanese conversation.

In this class, you’ll learn:

• How to give a simple self-introduction in Japanese
• How to say your name, country, and what you do for work
• Easy Japanese grammar
• Basic writing, reading, and thinking in Japanese

Class materials will be taken from the textbook Japanese for Busy People I, and you’ll study Lesson 1: Meeting: Nice to Meet You. If you’ve already got a copy of the text, feel free to bring it with you. Otherwise, the teacher will provide printed handouts. Don’t worry if you’re not confident with hiragana or katakana; the textbook uses English and Romaji.

Entry

Class participation is ¥2,000 (including one drink).
