The International Horticultural Expo is a sprawling, six-month showcase in northwest Yokohama, with gardens, plant displays and big ideas about how green space might shape the cities we actually want to live in.
What to expect
Set on the former Kamiseya Communications Facility, the expo will unfold across around 100 hectares — in other words, it’s a full-scale landscape event. Alongside show gardens and large horticultural displays, the focus is on the relationship between plants, people and place: water, community, biodiversity and greenery in urban spaces.
Pro tip: Yokohama is home to one of the most beautiful gardens, Sankei-en.
How to get there
The venue is located in northwest Yokohama, accessible from central Yokohama via local transport.
