Head to a beach near Tokyo for fireworks in the summer.
What happens?
In recent years, the fireworks have been canceled, but 2024 sees the event back in action. The Kamakura Fireworks Festival takes place at Yuigahama and Zaimokuza beaches on the coast of Kamakura City and will see around 2,500 fireworks shot into the sky. This is a good finish to a day trip to the area. Despite the small amount of fireworks around 130,000 people are expected.
In the event of stormy weather, the event will be canceled with no backup day.
Where can you see the fireworks for free?
While there will be paid seating, the 3 km beach will be open to the masses, so get there early to secure your spot.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.- 348 m from Yuigahama Station Enoshima Electric Railway (EN13)
