What to expect

This event in Kawasaki, easily accessible from central Tokyo, offers a blend of traditional star-themed decorations, wish-writing, and a festive atmosphere. Participants can also release LED lanterns into the sky.

Tickets 2025

Standard tickets cost ¥6,500 and up (depending on the day) for adults. However, there’s also an option to purchase a flexible ticket that allows you to change the date, which costs ¥8,500. Corresponding tickets for kids are ¥2,500 and ¥3,500 respectively.

How to get there

The festival takes place at Todoroki Sports Park.

From Shinjuku Station, make your way to one of three stations: Musashi-Kosugi (Saikyo or Shōnan–Shinjuku Line), Musashi-Nakahara (Odakyu and Nambu Line), or Shin-Maruko (Fukutoshin Line). Musashi-Kosugi is closest, taking about 25 minutes from Shinjuku.

From Musashi-Kosugi Station, it takes about 20 minutes on foot. From either Musashi-Nakahara Station or Shin-Maruko Station, it’s approximately a 15-minute walk.

The exact transit time will depend on the route you choose, but it should be under 50 minutes total.
