Karuta Japanese Card Game Meetup

2:00pm – 4:00pm
¥2,000 (at the door)

Test your wits and reflexes and make new friends along the way at this karuta traditional card game meetup.

What to expect

Karuta is a variety of traditional Japanese card games that have been played since the 16th century. Games often combine memorization and quick reflexes and are a popular Japanese pastime, particularly during New Year’s Day.

This meetup will help you learn the basics of the game as well as some Japanese vocabulary and phrases while getting to know like-minded people. Whether you’re a complete beginner or already familiar, this is a great opportunity to enjoy a traditional Japanese hobby in a friendly environment. Individuals and groups are welcome, plus English support is available.
