Kawaii Monster Land, the follow-up to the iconic Kawaii Monster Café, was originally slated to open in the winter of 2025. Now, it’s set to open on February 13, 2026.
What to expect
Has Harajuku lost its edge? Kawaii Monster Land, a new underground entertainment space opening beneath Takeshita Street, is setting out to bring back the neighborhood’s kawaii chaos. Produced by legendary art director Sebastian Masuda, it will extend the world he created at Kawaii Monster Café.
Throughout the 400-square-meter space, the Kawaii Monster Carnival focuses on games and decoration, the Harajuku Gift Bazaar leans into souvenirs and character goods, and the Colorful Snack Street gathers the food and drink offerings.
At the center of it all is Choppy’s Mel-Tea Cup Ride, a melting pastel teacup carousel and photo spot reminiscent of the original café’s Sweets-Go-Round.

Tickets
A variety of ticket options are available to purchase here. Standard tickets start at ¥2,800. Options include an admission-only pass, an all-inclusive Kawaii Experience Pack, and a Ride Pass that offers exclusive access to Choppy’s Mel-Tea Cup Ride for up to 25 minutes.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.Add to Calendar
