Calling all inventors, tinkerers, and big idea-havers, Maker Faire is coming to Tokyo.
What happens?
Maker Faire is an international event series that began in the United States in 2006. It has since spread around the world. Describing itself as the “Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth”, it’s part science fair, part tech expo, and part craft market.
Expect projects that range from robots, drones, and 3D printers to interactive art, handmade instruments, eco-tech experiments, and quirky DIY gadgets.
Designed to be interactive and foster cross-pollination, there will also be hands-on workshops and live demos.
Tickets
Advance single-day tickets are ¥1,400 for adults, ¥800 with the evening discount (valid for entry after 4 p.m. on Saturday the 4th, and after 3 p.m. on Sunday the 5th), and ¥500 for youths aged 18 and under, while preschool children enter free.
At the entrance on October 4 and 5, tickets are ¥1,800 for adults, ¥1,000 with the evening discount, and ¥700 for youths, with preschoolers still free.
