Marunouchi goes full festive.
What happens?
Don’t let the name confuse you — this is actually a Christmas market, and it stretches across Nakadori Avenue and Gyoko-dori Avenue.
With a total of 19 stalls along Nakadori, this year’s edition promises to be the biggest yet. And for the first time, there will also be a Christmas tree and chalet-style food stands — borrowing from the design of German and Austrian Christmas markets — along Gyōkō-dōri Avenue.
Expect to find hotels and cafés serving winter dishes, pastries, and mulled drinks along Nakadori. Down Gyōkō-dōri Avenue, four fir trees mark the start of the season, surrounded by stalls serving pizza, stews, and hot cocoa.
There will also be musical performances in the evenings.
Schedule 2025
The Nakadori Avenue section goes from November 13 to December 25, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Gyōkō-dōri Avenue section, meanwhile, extends from November 28 to December 25, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
How to get there
As soon as you come out of the main Tokyo Station Building, you’ll be facing where you need to go, but if you get lost, Nakadori Street stretches from the Tokyo Kotsu Kaikan shopping mall in front of Yurakucho Station and ends at Otemachi Nakadori. The whole stretch is around 1.2 km.
Gyōkō-dōri Avenue is located between Tokyo station and the Imperial Palace.
