Moomin Valley Park Christmas

Hotel Options

Moomin Valley Park does Christmas a little differently.

What happens?

Less tinsel and consumerism, and more gentle chaos and wonder: that’s the Moomin approach to the festive season.

There will be a show built around the original song What Is Christmas? in front of the Moomin House featuring new characters.

Suggested Activity
Shibuya Official Street Go-Kart in Shibuya Annex - 55% off!
Enjoy a 1 Hour karting experience on the city roads of Tokyo, with up to 55% discount this month! Feel like a celebrity as this course will take you through the famous Shibuya Crossing more than once.

A five-metre Christmas tree, inspired by the picture book Moominvalley Christmas, stands in front of the house, decorated exactly the way the Moomins, who famously have no idea what Christmas is, might attempt it.

The path into the valley features Christmas balloons and bubbles drifting through the air to resemble snow, and there’s also a snow play area for kids.

There will also be special food and drink, as well as season-exclusive goods.

Highlights 2025

This year includes a special tie-in: discounted set tickets for the neighboring natural hot spring Miyazawako Onsen Kirari Bettei. The Moominvalley skating rink also returns — this time floating on a lakeside terrace.

Schedule 2025

The night show takes place at 6:45 p.m. on weekdays, and at 5:30 and 7 p.m. on Sundays and holidays. Each show lasts around 15 minutes.

There will be winter fireworks shows on November 29 and 30 at 6 p.m.
