¥0 – ¥2,000
Hotel Options

View the changing autumn leaves and soak in the nature on this tour of Mt. Takao.

What to expect

Mt. Takao is a favorite of Tokyoites for its beautiful autumn leaves, and for good reason – it’s easily accessible from the city and offers a pleasant hike, even for beginners.

On this tour, you’ll be guided along scenic trails while taking in the colorful maple leaves and views of the city (and maybe Mt. Fuji, if you’re lucky). During the walk, you’ll also make your way through the beautiful Yakuo-in Buddhist temple.

Suggested Activity
Get Tickets To the Samurai Restaurant in Shinjuku (Up to 30% Off)
Experience one of the craziest, most colorful places in Tokyo — the all-new Samurai Restaurant, from the creators of the Robot Restaurant. Get your tickets and sit back for a wild show of lasers, lights, samurai, dancers and other uniquely Japanese weirdness.

You’ll be taken by cable car halfway up the mountain and enjoy a gentle hike to the summit.

What to Bring

  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • A drink to stay hydrated
  • A light jacket (it can be cooler at the top)
  • A transportation IC card or cash (for the ropeway fare)
  • Organizers also recommend bringing a bear bell just in case

Beginners and tourists are welcome, and English support is available. If the ropeway is closed due to weather, a walking route will be taken — organizers will notify participants via LINE in case of rain. The tour takes about 2 hours at a relaxed pace.
