MIXI is building one of its fictional shops for real. Mugen no Nikukyū, the store from the world of MONSONI!, opens as a 10-day pop-up in Omotesandō on September 18 — with a purple ube menu and a paw pad big enough to sit on.

What to expect

MONSONI! is MIXI’s music-themed spin-off from its hit mobile game Monster Strike, built around characters who perform in bands. Mugen no Nikukyū — roughly, “infinite paw pads” — is a popular store in Monsonicity, the project’s fictional city, and its main symbol is Infinity X, leader and DJ of the band Sayonara Gravity.

This is the first time the shop has been built as a real place. The centerpiece is a large “Mega Paw” photo spot you can sit on for pictures, in a room styled in the shop’s pink-and-purple palette.

Food and drink

The menu is built around ube, the purple yam that is a staple of Filipino desserts. There is a Pawple Ube Drink, a thick purple pouch drink served with a straw, and a Pawple Ube Madeleine finished with an edible viola.

Goods

Merchandise includes artwork T-shirts printed with the project’s song and album designs, an acrylic keychain carrying the holographic shop logo, and a fortune-slip maneki-neko (beckoning cat) charm that comes in six designs at random — one of them a secret color.

Schedule

The pop-up runs Friday, September 18 to Sunday, September 27, open 11 a.m.–8 p.m. The final day closes early, at 6 p.m.

Entry

Entry is free. Food, drinks, and merchandise are charged separately.
