Nakano Running Festa is an annual sports event that is fun for the whole family. This isn’t for extreme runners, but there will be plenty of fun to be had.
The route and run
There are a number of different route lengths available, from a relaxing 1.5 km run with family to the maximum 10 km. All runners will be making their way several times around Nakano Central Park (also known as Shiki no Mori Park), so it isn’t the most exciting scenery to see repeated, but you’ll see lots of revelers having fun nearby and cosplay is welcome — and appreciated.
How to apply
Application for the Nakano Running Festa is from December 1, 2023 to February 5, 2024. You can apply using the Runnet website or in person at Tokyo Athletic Club (TAC Nakano) and TAC Sun Plaza Sports Space. Currently there is no English-language application method available, but I am sure there will be somebody to help at the aforementioned venues.
What is there to see and do?
If you aren’t there to run, the festa offers plenty of other things to keep you busy while you watch competitors lope past (some of them in pretty funny outfits, so take your camera!). There’s food and drink stalls, special guests, and a nice day out in the delightful environment of the park.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.- 490 m from Nakano Station Tozai Line (T1)Chūō Line (Rapid) (JC6)Chūō-Sōbu Line (JB33)
