NAKED “Omatsuri” Festival: Eat, Play, and Dance

11:00am – 10:00pm
¥3,800 – ¥4,000

The art collective NAKED has returned to Tokyo to put on an interactive matsuri (festival) like you’ve never seen before.

What to expect

Inside the airconditioned Marunouchi Building, the NAKED “Omatsuri” combines digital art and advanced technology to give you a night you won’t forget.

The most surprising part of the festival is a bon odori dance conducted by a gigantic, talking Daruma doll. Using projection mapping and AI, this doll communicates with passers-by and even becomes a DJ. Other tech ingenuity includes photo spots with changing backgrounds and props, a digital prize for sorting your garbage correctly, and a yakisoba stall that lets you choose toppings by “shooting” at them.

There are typical festival staples too: dance performances including awa odori, shaved ice, and Daruma-shaped goodies at the numerous food and drink stalls.

Tickets

The main venue is paid entry. You can buy tickets online. Here are the prices for adults:

  • Weekdays: ¥3,800 for Early Bird Tickets; ¥3,900 for regular tickets
  • Fridays, weekends, and holidays: ¥3,900 for Early Bird Tickets; ¥4,000 for regular tickets

Elementary school students get a ¥300¥400 discount from these prices. Early Bird Tickets end on July 25. Your ticket also comes with a welcome drink.

The free areas of the festival include nightly fireworks projection mapping on the side of the Marunouchi Building and a giant Daruma statue on the 1st floor.

How to get there

The festival will mainly take place on the 7th floor of the Marunouchi Building, around a 5-minute walk from Tokyo Station.
