Try your hand at traditional Japanese calligraphy and put your 2025 New Year’s resolutions down in ink.
What is Kakizome?
Kakizome is a traditional Japanese New Year’s calligraphy practice. With a fresh mindset, you write down a word or phrase that represents your aspirations or something you want to cherish in the coming year. This act is believed to purify the mind and body while renewing your determination.
What to expect
Express your hopes and aspirations for 2025 by writing them on washi paper with a brush and ink. Friendly staff will guide even complete beginners step-by-step. Share with others your goals and wishes through the elegant art of calligraphy in a welcoming environment.
All tools and materials will be provided and English-language support will be available. Things might get messy, so dress appropriately.
