Daniel Lopatin, better known as Oneohtrix Point Never (OPN) is back in Tokyo with a hypnotic, conceptually-driven live set built around his latest album Tranquilizer.
What to expect
OPN is known for shows that sit at the intersection of concert, art installation and cinematic experience. This Japan date expands on Tranquilizer, a dense, immersive record assembled from salvaged digital fragments, and pairs it with an ambitious visual program created in collaboration with visual artist Freeka Tet.
Lopatin is also known for scoring films such as Marty Supreme, Uncut Gems, and The Bling Ring, and collaborating with artists ranging from Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd) to FKA twigs.
Ambient musician Laraaji has also been confirmed to join the tour as a special guest.
Last year, Laraaji sold out his Tokyo and Kyoto tour, and with his unique sensibility and performance style, he continues to influence musicians and listeners around the world.
Laraaji also contributed to OPN’s soundtrack for Marty Supreme, and this tour will be a rare opportunity to see the two musicians share the same stage.
