Real-World Japanese Conversation Class in Akihabara

Learn basic Japanese conversation skills in a fun RPG-style travel adventure at this laid-back class in Akihabara.

What to expect

Do you spend hours on Duolingo but crumble at the first sign of having to order at a restaurant? What about checking in at a hotel?

With interactive “quests”, this class simulates real-world conversation settings to give you the time, practice, and confidence to level up your Japanese with the support you won’t find on apps.

With your teacher and classmates, you’ll participate in scenarios inspired by travel in Japan, like checking in at a ryokan, asking for directions to a bus stop, ordering at a café, buying souvenirs, or purchasing train tickets. Each stage is a realistic travel scene, and you’ll “clear” them one by one as you progress through the lessons.

As special side quests, this session will focus on numbers and counters such as “two people,” “second floor,” and more.

If you don’t complete all stages in one session, you’re more than welcome to join multiple classes and experience the whole adventure.

Organizers have prepared all the materials you need for the class, so just bring along a pen and a notebook. This is a beginner’s class, so even people who only know basic greetings are more than welcome!

Participation in the class is free, but prior registration is required.

Class participation is free for members and ¥2,000 for non-members, paid at the door in cash or via PayPay. For non-members, prior registration is required via this Google Form.
