Swords, snacks, and songs await at the Samurai Fes in Ueno. Held to demonstrate the spirit of the warriors in Feudal Japan, this is a must-see for fans of Japanese culture.
What to expect
There will be several stage events held over four days, from musical performances to reenactments of famous moments in history. The performers will be dressed in clothing from the era and will use traditional props and instruments. A full list of the daily performances and times can be found on the event website.
Several food and merch stores will be available to browse in between performances. The food stalls offer Japanese favorites like takoyaki, oysters, and meat, with beers and spirits to wash it down. Meanwhile, you can buy everything from traditional brooches to battle armor at the merch spots.
