Sanrio Characters Exhibition – Hotel Floria Tokyo

The Sanrio Characters Exhibition – Hotel Floria Tokyo is a picture-perfect experiential exhibition where you can explore a hotel-themed space adorned with Sanrio characters. So, are you ready to check in to Tokyo’s most kawaii ‘hotel’?

What happens?

First, you’ll check in at the pretty-and-pink check-in desk and receive a room key card decorated with a Sanrio character. Make sure to hold onto this, as you’ll need it again — plus, it’s an adorable souvenir.

After that, you’ll wander around a variety of rooms that double as photo spots — the perfect backdrop for all those Instagram pictures. From Hello Kitty’s red and apple-themed piano room, to Kuromi’s punk rock style bedroom, to Cinnamoroll’s relaxing blue bathroom, this is definitely a hotel full of adorable friends waiting for you.

Although all the rooms feel rather magical, it’s the last part that leaves the most impact. Before you check out of the hotel, hear the sounds of the waves crashing against the shore and sit with Pochacco or Hello Kitty for a while. My personal favorite rooms? I love the hotel swimming pool (where you’ll see Hangyodon swimming around), as well as Little Twin Stars’ whimsical garden, with all your favorite characters waiting to greet you.

After your brief holiday getaway, make sure to check out using your room key. You’ll receive another exclusive card to take home with you.

And, of course, no good exhibition is complete without a gift shop. This one is full of original and exclusive goods you can’t find anywhere else — think Floria Hotel–themed room perfumes, or postcards of the characters and scenes within the exhibition.

Tickets

Prices vary depending on whether you go during the week or on weekends. They are as follows:

• General/University Students: Weekdays ¥2,400 / Weekends ¥2,600.
• High School/Middle School Students: Weekdays ¥1,600 / Weekends ¥1,800.
• Children (ages 4-12)/Elementary School: Weekdays ¥1,000 / Weekends ¥1,200.

You can reserve tickets online on the official website. Note that you’ll need to pick a time-specific slot. It’s also possible to buy tickets on the day — depending on how busy the exhibition is.

Pro tip: Since the exhibition is open until 8 p.m., we recommend booking an early evening or evening slot as it’s much quieter at this time, meaning it’s much easier to get photos without people in the background.

Note: Last admission is 7:30 p.m.

How to get there

The exhibition is on the 4th floor of Kabukichō Tower. It’s a 7-minute walk from Shinjuku Station, an 8-minute walk from Shinjuku-sanchome Station, or a 1-minute walk from the Seibu-Shinjuku Line.
