No trip to Tokyo required for this one: Sanrio’s virtual music festival returns to Virtual Sanrio Puroland, a digital version of the beloved theme park, for 10 days inside VRChat. The free areas cost nothing to explore, and fans anywhere in the world can join.
What to expect
The Summer Edition is a satellite version of the main winter festival, mixing encore presentations of performances from the Winter 2026 event with new live shows from virtual artists and VTubers, plus appearances by Sanrio characters.
Look out for the VR club area D.D.D., character greetings, the Virtual Idol Contest, and community collaboration events, along with updated floors and fresh interactive content around the virtual park.
Tickets
You don’t need a ticket for the free areas. To watch the artist performances, grab a Standard Ticket (¥4,400), which covers all shows on PC VR for the whole event, or a Standard Light Ticket (¥880) for Quest and Android users, covering the performances compatible with those devices.
If you bought a Standard or Standard Plus Ticket for the Winter 2026 festival, you can add this summer’s shows with an Encore Ticket (¥1,100). Tickets are on sale until 8 p.m. (JST) on September 6, and you can rewatch performances as many times as you like during the event.
How to join
Hop into Virtual Sanrio Puroland via VRChat. You don’t need a VR headset, as desktop mode works too. VRChat visitors can use the event’s original base avatar, Mochipoly, for free, while Sanrio character digital outfits are sold separately on the digital merchandise platform XMarket. Performance times vary by day, so check the official website and performance schedule before diving in.
