Shibuya Anime Music Night: Opening Night

¥2,100 – ¥6,000
Hotel Options

Tune into anime songs performed live by a real band in a Shibuya basement — then step up for wotagei, synchronized glow-stick choreography unique to Japanese idol and fandom culture. No experience needed.

What to expect

For anyone who has ever wanted to hear their favorite anime songs played properly live — and then try the glow-stick routines usually seen from the crowd — this night brings both together in a cozy Shibuya live house.

ONExONE performs well-known anime songs with Kakkun on drums and Jin Shibuya playing guitar and bass at the same time, live rather than through loops. The set includes tracks such as Gurenge, Blue Bird, Silhouette, SPECIALZ, Zankyosanka, and A Cruel Angel’s Thesis, with the audience joining in on the choruses.

After the band set, 20 participants will be given glow sticks and taught a simple wotagei routine. Wotagei is the synchronised light-stick performance style associated with Japanese idol and anime fandom. Target shooting may also be available on some nights.

The event takes place in a standing basement venue in Shibuya Center-Gai. It is designed to be English-friendly and suitable for solo visitors, with no prior experience nor Japanese language skills required.
