Throughout the Edo Period, Shunga erotic art exploded in popularity, and at the forefront of the scene were Katsushika Hokusai and Keisai Eisen. This exhibition — the third in the series — brings together some of these artists’ most representative pieces across two venues.

Around 100 pieces will be on display, including works from artists influenced by Hokusai and a collection of spring-themed Ukiyo-e art. The highlight of the exhibition, however, will be Hokusai’s masterpiece Tako to Ama (The Dream of the Fisherman’s Wife), one of the most recognizable pieces of Edo-period Shunga art.
