Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA) returns this autumn with a special edition showcasing the very best from its 2025 lineup.
What to expect
The autumn program of Short Shorts screens over 30 acclaimed short films, including Pantyhose, winner of the festival’s Grand Prix (George Lucas Award), along with the top works from the Live Action, Animation, and Non-Fiction categories, all strong contenders for the 2026 Academy Awards.
Other highlights include the Japanese premiere of How to Open the Door, produced by and starring Korean actor Kim Nam-gil, and a special collaboration with the Tokyo International Film Festival, featuring works by five visiting women directors and a focus on Brazilian cinema.
Tickets
Advance tickets are ¥2,000, while same-day tickets are ¥2,300.
For the first time, the festival introduces a One-Day Pass system, allowing audiences to enjoy up to 12 films per day.
How to get there
Screenings will take place at venues across Tokyo, including the Akasaka Intercity Conference Center and the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum in Ebisu.
The Akasaka Intercity Conference Center is a short walk from Tameike-sannō Station, about 10 minutes on the Ginza Line from Shibuya Station.
