Illuminations, but make them sustainable.

What happens?

Tokyo Square Garden in Kyobashi hosts one of the area’s largest winter illuminations. The light-up features 170,000 LED bulbs powered entirely — yes, you heard that right — by renewable energy.

Kyobashi Hill and the surrounding trees will glow in soft light from 4 p.m. to midnight.

Suggested Activity
Shibuya Official Street Go-Kart in Shibuya Annex - 55% off!
Enjoy a 1 Hour karting experience on the city roads of Tokyo, with up to 55% discount this month! Feel like a celebrity as this course will take you through the famous Shibuya Crossing more than once.

There will also be a striking installation, replacing the classical Christmas tree, designed by photographer Mao Kokubu. Instead of baubles and ribbons, it’s covered in translucent ornaments that shift in color and texture as the light changes. When the season ends, you can take one of the ornaments home (if you registered in advance).

Past events have maintained a focus on sustainability, featuring ornaments made from surplus building material and old clothes.

Schedule 2025

The event goes from November 6, 2025, to January 31, 2026. The tree display lasts until December 25, 2025. Lighting hours are 4 p.m. to midnight.

How to get there

Tokyo Square Garden is directly connected to Kyobashi Station (Tokyo Metro Ginza Line). It’s 2 minutes from Ginza-itchome Station or Takaracho Station, and 6 minutes from Tokyo Station or Yurakucho Station.

Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
