Tokyo Tower Tanabata Festival

Tokyo Tower is ready for the Tanabata season and that means lights, candles, and wishes.

What happens?

Several events are going on in and around Tokyo Tower during the event period. The tower also gets a special light show. Here are the highlights:

• Milky Way Illumination (June 21–September 23): The Main Deck of Tokyo Tower gets a makeover with 30,000 lights representing the Milky Way.
• Make a Wish (July 1–7): Also on the Main Deck, you can write down your wishes and tie them up.
• Tokyo Tower Candle Night (July 6–7): From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., candles appear outside the entrance of Tokyo Tower. There are also candles at Zojoji Temple down the road.
• Yukata discount compaign (July 1–September 1): Get discounts at Tokyo Tower and the surrounding shops if you wear a yukata, kimono, or jinbei.
