One of the world’s biggest travel events lands at Tokyo Big Sight this September, and the weekend is open to the public. Expect hundreds of booths from destinations across Japan and dozens of countries, stage shows, regional food, plus potential freebies and travel deals.
What to expect
Prefectures and tourism boards from all over Japan set up alongside international exhibitors, most with stage performances, mascots, local food, and campaign deals in tow. If you’ve been eyeing a lesser-known corner of Japan, this is the place to grill the people who actually run tourism there — although you will most likely need to speak Japanese.
Schedule
Tourism Expo Japan 2026 runs from September 24–27 at Tokyo Big Sight. The first two days are industry-only; public days are Saturday, September 26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, September 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tickets 2026
Advance tickets are ¥1,200 and on sale until September 25, after which same-day tickets are ¥1,500 at the door. Students go free, but only if you register on the official site beforehand and bring a valid student ID to show on the day.
How to get there
Tokyo Big Sight is about a 3-minute walk from Tokyo Big Sight Station on the Yurikamome Line, or about 7 minutes from Kokusai-Tenjijō Station on the Rinkai Line.
