For nine days, Tokyo hosts some of the world’s best athletes for the 20th World Athletics Championship.
What to expect
At the World Athletics Championship, over 2000 athletes from 200 countries come to represent their turf at this enormous event. From 100-meter sprints to javelin and shot put, dozens of different disciplines are on show. Over the event’s nine days, you can watch competitors work their way through qualifying heats, all the way to the heart-pumping final.
Tickets
Tickets for the events must be booked through the official website. Since the stadium is so large, prices vary based on seating area and whether you want to go for a weekday or weekend event. The cheapest seats will set you back ¥2,500, but if you want front-row seats for a big event, expect to pay up to ¥125,000.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.Add to Calendar
