A play on the Japanese word yatai (food stall) and Taiwan, the Yataiwan Festival brings Taiwan’s night markets to Tokyo.
What to expect
Walk in the light of Tokyo Tower and sample a collection of Taiwan’s tastiest dishes. Try Lu Rou Fan (braised pork rice bowl), soy milk, Taiwanese dumplings, Niu Rou Mian (beef noodle soup), along with Taiwanese beverages such as the local beer and boba (bubble tea, tapioca tea). Prices start from around ¥600.
There is also a Fortune Telling Hall, a dragon light sculpture, and a main stage that features both traditional and modern arts from Taiwan.
Tickets
Entry costs ¥500, which includes a hand-held lantern to set the festival mood. You can buy your tickets in advance or on the day.
