Yoshino Baigō Plum Blossom Festival

Free

The plum blossoms found at Ōme Ume (Plum) Park are beautiful to behold — and come with a side of traditional festivities.

What happens?

Ōme is the place to be if you want both a view of plum blossoms and a fun-filled event that includes tours, dances, performances, and marches.

Note that while there are now plenty of plum trees to view, they all had to be chopped down in 2014 and replanted. This means they might not be as large as you’d expect from other parks, but the fun of this festival extends beyond the pink blossoms.

Suggested Activity
Get Tickets To the Samurai Restaurant in Shinjuku (Up to 30% Off)
Experience one of the craziest, most colorful places in Tokyo — the all-new Samurai Restaurant, from the creators of the Robot Restaurant. Get your tickets and sit back for a wild show of lasers, lights, samurai, dancers and other uniquely Japanese weirdness.

How to get there

You can get to Ōme Station from Shinjuku Station in 1 hour on the Chuo Line Rapid. From there, either take the Ume 76 Bus to the “Yoshino-Bairin” stop (12 minutes) or change trains to the Ōme Line, get off at Hinatawada Station (10 minutes), and walk for 15 minutes.

Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
