This unique open-air gallery exhibition will take the yu-asobi (playing in hot water) concept to Tokyo’s streets.
While the opening night is only on June 21, the whole exhibition will run from June 20 till July 18.
What to expect
Yu-Asobi is a collaborative exhibition from Jinny Street Gallery and Kosugi-yu Harajuku, a public bath in Harakado. Featuring works from 42 artists, it explores the theme of Japanese sento culture through various mediums, including photography, illustration, installation, and sculpture.
The opening night on June 21 at 6:30 p.m. features an artist meetup, a pop-up art market, and the launch of a limited-edition Jinny Lemon Sour (with a special Kosugi-yu Harajuku label). Guests can also take part in a short walk to view the exhibition displayed across Jinny Street Gallery’s open-air showcases in the neighborhood.

How to get there
The exhibition opening party will take place at Ninini, a bar in Harajuku. The easiest way to get there is the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line to Gaiemmae Station. From there, it’s an 11-minute walk to the venue. The rest of the exhibition takes place outside at Jinny Street Gallery.
