If you have some writing experience, (doesn’t have to be a lot!) you like food and you like getting the best value for your money, then you could be the person we’re looking for.

If you’re interested in applying, send the following to

  • A short bio (highlighting why you would be good for the position)
  • A link or two to articles or posts you have online (a personal blog or even a tumblr is fine)
  • An original sample article (with photo) on a cheapo food place of your choice.

There are absolutely no restrictions on age, gender or nationality.  However, you must write at a native English level and live in or very close to Tokyo.

If you’d like to put together a submission, remember that ‘Cheapo’ isn’t just about getting the absolute lowest price – it’s about value almost as much as price and about providing practical info that people can use.

Because our readers are so clever, we’re expecting some excellent applications.  However, as the adage goes, ‘there can be only one’ so don’t take it personally if we don’t select you. Also let us know if we can publish your submission even if you aren’t selected.
