One of Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist temples, Azabusan Zenpukuji in Minato is most famous for its grand 750-year-old ginkgo tree.
Established over 1200 years ago during the Heian Period, this temple has a rich history as the first Tokyo legation of the United States. On the temple grounds, you will find a monument dedicated to Townsend Harris, the first United States Consul General to Japan.
