Just behind Tokyo Midtown, this small park is popular with families and busy workers on their lunch breaks. Now a hub of Tokyo, Roppongi was once filled with towering cypress trees (hinoki is the Japanese word for cypress) rather than high rise buildings.
Despite its proximity to Roppongi, the park is actually part of the neighboring Akasaka area. The park is on the site of an old feudal lord’s garden and is so green and peaceful you can almost travel back in time to a quieter era.
The park has a children’s play area, pond and small wisteria tunnel along with small gardens including a little stream and rockery area.
