A katana (samurai sword) boutique located in the Nishisanjo shopping arcade in Asakusa.
They stock everything from “souvenir” swords right through to high quality crafted pieces. You can pick up a sword to take home (a wooden one) for as little as ¥2,200—as long as you can explain why it’s in your check-in luggage at the airport. They also stock replica vintage firearms, which will probably get you on some no-fly list when they scan your suitcase.
Careful not to carry your sword around when out and about either, or you’ll fall foul of Japan’s Swords and Firearms Possession Control Law which bars people in Japan from carrying anything with a blade longer than a very small fruit knife.
