Japanese festivals, known as matsuri, are an important part of the country’s cultural heritage. At the Kawagoe Festival Museum, visitors can explore the traditions behind the Kawagoe Festival — a celebration that is over 370 years old.

The museum takes you through the festival’s creation from start to finish using videos, photos, personal stories, and recreations. Highlights include the Float Display Hall, featuring two actual festival floats.

There is a small admission fee to enter the museum. It is ¥300 for adults and ¥100 for elementary and junior-high students.
