Not to be confused with the shrine of the same name to the north of Asakusa in Iriya, Taito-ward, Ōtori Shrine is the venue for an annual festival in September.
The shrine is said to be the oldest in the Meguro area. There are celebrations throughout the year for auspicious occasions such as New Year, the 7-5-3 festival (shichigōsan), and Tori-no-ichi markets in November. The annual shrine festival takes place in September each year.
Although compact in size, the shrine is a pleasant refuge from the busy streets that surround it.
