The Pola Museum of Art is a modern art museum in the hills of Hakone with a treasure trove of paintings by Europe’s masters of impressionism, modernism and surrealism.
Among the thousands of pieces in the permanent collection are works by Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Renoir, Cézanne, Degas, Dali, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Miró, Matisse, Manet and Modigliani.
The building in which the works are housed is also of note.
